Kamarpukur Ramakrishna Math and Mission celebrated the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda as National Youth Day with daylong programmes.
The celebrations began with mangal arati, recitation of Vedic mantras and shlokas, followed by a colourful procession depicting the life and ideology of Swami Vivekananda. Around thirty schools and organisations participated in the procession, which saw the involvement of more than 4,000 people.

Yoga and meditation sessions were also organised to promote physical and mental well-being.
Scholar Swapan Bandyopadhyay addressed the gathering and spoke on Swamiji’s teachings, their relevance in modern times, and his spiritual journey.
The head of Kamarpukur Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Swami Lokottarananda, in his message said that Swami Vivekananda’s message to the youth centred on self-belief, physical and moral strength, character-building, fearless action and selfless service. He urged young people to be heroes with “muscles of iron and nerves of steel” to uplift themselves and the nation, famously calling upon them to “arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached”.
